new christian metal
Letter 7 is Christian rock music with a hard edge metal guitar sound, old school power metal vocals and hooks, and solid driving drums. Formed by one guy from Arizona with the help of professional vocalist Tom Collete and sound engineer Ken Orth, they put together a great collection of high energy songs with a rockin sound. JD Evans - writer, producer and Christian musician takes a new direction with this album. The powerful feel and creative vocals send the listeners back to the metal days of old like Judas Priest,Rez band,Whitesnake,Bloodgood,Dio,Stryper,Petra and more. They even threw in a couple of great rock ballads to round out the entire project making this CD into a completely enjoyable experience. I think I got the "message" too. Nice job guys!

I was scrolling through the Christian metal section at CD Baby the other day and discovered an exciting new band out of Phoenix, AZ called Letter 7. Heavily influenced by the 80s, Letter 7 recently released its full length debut "Salt Of The Earth", a very fine work which can best be described as a blend of melodic metal and hard rock bringing to mind the likes of Stryper, Bloodgood, Whitecross, Soldier and Unforsaken.

The band combines the shredding lead work of guitarist and songwriter JD Evans with the professional vocal abilities of Tom Collete. Production values sound crisp and clean.

Lyrics are upfront and boldly Christian.

BTW, it looks like Phoenix - with Tykkus, Troglodyte Dawn and now Letter 7 - is becoming quite the hotbed for quality Christian metal!

Letter 7 is quite the promising act, exhibiting its potential by merging a profusion of guitar driven energy and notable melodies to create a sound certain to appeal to fans of Dokken, Stryper, Fifth Angel, Holy Soldier, Whitecross, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Red Sea and Judas Priest. Salt Of The Earth, for example, finds the band in top form on up-tempo numbers “Onward Christian Soldiers”, “Salt Of The Earth” and “Stand On The Rock” in addition to proving equally adept on the mid-tempo sounds of ...

Awesome classic Metal!

"Hard to believe this did not come out in 1988! This is classic Christian metal at it's finest. Soaring leads, pounding drums, and stellar clean vocals. One of this year's best for an old metalhead like me."
